Never Alone has recently launched on the NVIDIA SHIELD Android TV and, once you’ve played this beautiful game for a few minutes, you will soon realize why it snapped up the 2015 BAFTA Award for Best Debut Game. Not only is this genuinely unique interactive entertainment of the finest sort, it is also a deeply enjoyable learning experience. Which is not something we often see or play.

Last week saw the release of The Raven – Legacy of a Master Thief on Nvidia’s gaming-on-demand service called GRID. Since we get a new game each week, that means we have a new one available now and this week’s game happens to be the 2D head-to-head brawler BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger.
One of the bigger titles announced back during GDC 2015 for the Nvidia Shield Android TV console was DOOM 3: BFG Edition. Well it seems that this game, or selection of games as that is actually what it is, has been released onto Google Play today for Shield Tablets as well as the Shield console. Shield Portable owners are unfortunately not able to grab this game.
With the official launch of the Shield Android TV console, there has also been a few new games to be released alongside the console’s launch. However, not all of these new games are specifically for the Shield Console. Some of these titles are also for the Shield tablet, and there are even a few for all three Shield branded devices. Some of these games people have been waiting to play on their Shield Tablets and now that they are available, during the launch of the Shield Console, you might not be aware that you can play them on your tablet.
The other day when Nvidia finally admitted to the 500GB model of the Nvidia Shield Android TV console actually existing and being real for consumers to purchase soon, one other tidbit of information was revealed as well. This was that the Android 5.1 update for the Shield tablet would be arriving soon, before the launch of the Shield console unit. Well it appears that ‘soon’ has turned out to be today.
All of you Nvidia Shield Tablet and Shield Portable owners out there in Android land who have been waiting patiently for Android 5.1 to arrive, there is some good news today. Nvidia has confirmed that the Android 5.1 update for both Shield devices will be arriving soon. This announcement came by way of a post on the Nvidia community forums by an administrator.
Nvidia just announced a rather nice deal that they have going on for those of you considering buying a 32GB Nvidia Shield. In order to sweeten the pot and make you open up your wallet to buy one, Nvidia will be throwing in a free Nvidia Shield controller, a free tablet cover for your new Shield tablet, and three games.
Early this month Nvidia pushed out an OTA update bringing version 2.2 to Shield Tablets. While the update was a good one, a few minor bugs popped up from it, one of which our reader Michel Mohr pointed out had to do with a display bug where reds were being displayed as oranges instead.
Previously released on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, Pure Pool has made its way to Android devices, specifically Tegra K1 devices like the Nvidia Shield Tablet.
