While the OBox from Snail Games was high up on our list of things to get some hands-on time with as soon as possible, the company’s two new Android phones were also something we wanted to check out. Snail Games unveiled two gaming-centric Android phones at CES 2015 and while both come with physical controls, the W 3D also features glasses-free 3D.

One of the more interesting announcements so far, at least in the realm of Android-based gaming, has to be Snail Games’ set of gaming-centric Android phones and their Android-based game console. Snail Games had plenty of both phones, The W and The W 3D, available for some hands-on time as well as the OBox console. We will get into the phones in another article though.
If there is one thing you can count on for with Gameloft, it is the fact that they will always be one of the first developers to optimize their games for any new upcoming gaming hardware or platforms based off of Android that look promising. Whether it was the Ouya console or the GameStick, they usually have a few games announced as ready to go for that particular platform’s release.
Snail Games isn’t just showing off two new Android phones at this year’s CES but they are also showing off their Android-based game console called the OBox. However this isn’t your typical small package Android console at all and, in fact, it is designed as a full-sized console which bares no resemblance to an Xbox at all… okay maybe a little bit.
For the past few years there has always been at least one attempt by some company to bring glasses-free 3D gaming to Android. When the concept originally came to light a few years ago, a few companies threw their hands into it with Android devices but almost all of them left everyone wanting and the glasses-free 3D part of it was lackluster at best. This year we have a new attempt to bring glasses-free 3D gaming to Android with a device called The W 3D.
