Just like they did with Halloween this year, DeNA / Mobage are celebrating this holiday season with a variety of in-game events and special promotions to help put you in the mood. While these special events and promotions are not happening in every single one of their games, the ones that are holding the events are some of their most popular titles.

Google is hosting another sale only this time there are no $0.10 or $0.25 games for you to pick up. Instead this Thanksgiving weekend has Google listing a selection of titles that have rather large discounts happening inside of them. We say ‘inside of them’ because almost everything in the list is a free-to-play game supported through in-game purchases, so the sale is in regards to in-game currency packages and other IAPs available within those games.
After the news of OpenFeint being shut down soon from yesterday, GREE has followed it up with a new game release called Magnus Ignis. GREE has also done what a few other developers have decided to do in the past and start a new developer account on Google Play with a slight variation of their name. Square Enix did it, EA has done it, and now GREE has done it as well. So even though this game shows up as the only game GREE has released onto Android, that is not true. It is just the first game under that account.
With Thanksgiving here in the USA coming closer and closer, Mobage has decided to hold a variety of events across multiple titles in celebration of the Turkey eating day. Back in August of this year we talked about two games that were coming to the Mobage social gaming platform that we were hoping would make it to the rest of the world and not just Japan. Those games were Ninja Gaiden and Monster Hunter: Massive Hunting, both of which were definitely coming to Android at the time we initially reported on both titles, they happened to be labeled as Japan-only releases for the time being.
We’ve seen this happen before with really popular mobile game developers such as Funzio which GREE paid $210 million for after their Crime City game spent months on the top of the Top Grossing games chart on Google Play. Now, DeNA is getting into the action but instead of buying the company outright, they have decided to buy into Cygames, developers of the widely popular action trading card game Rage of Bahamut, taking a 20% stake in the company for 7.4 billion Yen which converts to approximately $92 million USD.
A rather big company named Marvel released a TCG title yesterday called Marvel War of Heroes, but if that isn’t your type of thing then perhaps cats are instead. They are not normal cats though, they are Samurai Cats. Released onto the Mobage social gaming platform, Samurai Cats is as it sounds, a TCG title filled with cats wielding swords and attacking enemies, in TCG gaming format of course. However, you can for groups and formations with your cards, almost like a strategy board game.
Back at the beginning of this month we talked about a new Marvel themed TCG title that would be making its way to us this month called Marvel War of Heroes. It has been a couple of weeks since then and now the game has finally arrived onto the Google Play store for those of you who are TCG fans.
Gamevil has been steadily releasing games onto Google Play over the past few months and we already know that this will continue on till at least the end of this year. Today sees the next title in their line-up arriving on the Google Play store called Duel of Fate. This new game is a multiplayer card battler with a slightly more mature feel to it. Every monster isn’t some cute Pokemon type of creature.
Another Marvel Universe based game is on the horizon and this time it will be coming in the form of a TCG called Marvel: War of Heroes. As of right now there isn’t a whole lot of information regarding this upcoming Marvel title but we do know a few key points about it. First, we know that this TCG will be coming integrated with DeNA’s social gaming platform (Mobage) which means this will also be a free-to-play title.
