Major League Gaming, Sony and Gameloft team up to bring e-sports to mobile

For those of you unfamiliar with what e-sports happens to be, it is essentially professional gaming. These are tournaments played on both console and PC for cash prizes, usually rather large ones. Games such as Call of Duty, StarCraft and so on are played regularly in the e-sport circuit through many of the different tournament companies like MLG (Major League Gaming) and WCG (World Cyber Games).

We just wrapped up the first ever Android Gaming Challenge which was not only dubbed the first of it’s kind for the Android platform but some reports labeled it as the first of it’s kind of mobile gaming in general! The response? Massive. With over 400+ initial participants and media coverage on just about every major Android website (fantastic Android community support) and some technology/mobile news sites, the first AGC was a great success.

After a long qualifier round of gaming with gamers fighting to get into the Top 40 the list has been set and the ladder has been made. All players were randomly paired by phone type as close as possible to even up the playing field. So here is what you have all been waiting for…the ladder build and also the announcement of the 1st round game!

Some games will be available on the market, while others will be accessible through Droid Gamers.
