Monster Madness has been one of the games we’ve really been waiting for to be released onto the Android Market. Finally the wait is over and all you lucky people with a Tegra 2 device already are going to be happy. Monster Madness, made with Unreal Engine 3, is a top-down shooter where you will be blasting away at a variety of monsters.

Dungeon Defenders: First Wave has a new update coming and will be version 3.0. While Trendy Entertainment is keeping some of the update quiet along with the official changelog due to waiting on Apple’s submission process to go through, we do know a few things that will be in the update as well as a few rumors.
So some random gaming site called The SlowDown took the time to site down and talk to Epic’s Vice President, Jay Wilbur, to talk about development of games on the mobile platform among other things. Jay Wilbur mentions that one major hurdle is the hardware fragmentation that Android currently has… really?
Not that Unreal Engine 3 officially supports Android just yet even though they will sell you a license to make an Android game, such as Dungeon Defenders: First Wave. Well their primary showcase game demo, Epic Citadel, is now up and running on a dual-core Tegra 2 Android tablet and it looks fantastic.

Trendy Entertainment has just unleashed Android’s first game developed by Unreal Engine 3 onto the market called Dungeon Defenders: First Wave. The wait is almost over! The first game developed using the Unreal Engine 3 is coming to Android December 23rd, 2010. Trendy Entertainment has officially announced the release date along with a device compatibility list. Dungeon Defenders: First Wave is a slick looking 3D action-RPG/Tower Defense game.
Trendy Entertainment sort of let the cat out of the bag in regards to the release date of Dungeon Defenders: First Wave. While nothing is a specific date, over in the forums on the Dungeon Defenders site, they did mention a release time of around a week or so before it lands on the Android Market.
This week Epic released the Unreal Engine Kit for developers on the iOS platform, officially. Android, however, is still unofficially supported. Mark Rein, VP of Epic, says that although Android developers can get license for development using Unreal Engine 3 (see Dungeon Defenders), nothing is official just yet…
In an interview with Ars Technica, Mark Rein comments about the Android OS and Unreal Engine. Overall the interview is great and is definitely a good read. Most of it is focused on iOS and Infinity Blade, however, Mark Rein does comment on Android. The Unreal Engine is up and running for Android, but we already knew that.
