The Linguist: Word Craft continues to be one of our favorite word games, but it now has competition in the form of The Linguist: Word Sprint!, a recent addition to the franchise that more than gives its predecessors a run for their money.
Playable on both mobile and MacOS, The Linguist: Word Sprint! Is the ultimate test in how many words you know. It sees how quickly you can find them too, based on a small set of starting letters you can use. The longer the word, the more seconds you claw back.
The tactical depth comes from the prompts. At the start of each game you’ll get two letters with which to make as many words as possible. More letters are gradually added to these two, meaning you need to think carefully about the words you make in the early going.
You might use words too soon of course, and when new letters are added you run out of new words to make – so being thoughtful about what words you use and when is essential.
Every time you make a word in The Linguist: Word Sprint! a flower appears in the background. These flowers generate extra points, while special blooms display bonus words. Typing these words triggers a bonus points bonanza.
Plus, there’s a sprint mini-game that rewards fast fingers, fast thinking, and a lexicon that extends beyond four-letter words.
