Hexage’s next game is… a free multiplayer!

Hexage has been developing games for Android for some time now, all of which are high quality games covering a variety of genres. From day one they have concentrated on great games for Android and have made a solid name for themselves in the Android community. Details are now available for their upcoming but still untitled game.

Their most recent release, EVAC, was a Pac-Man style game which received a lot of praise in the gaming community for its cool retro-style graphics and unique gameplay. While their newest game which is still in the early stages of development remains unnamed at this point, some details have come out regarding what kind of game it is.

PocketGamer received some exclusive information from Hexage about their upcoming game and it already sounds like another winner. First, it will be free, completely free but ad supported. Usually Hexage releases a game in a lite trial version for free with the full version being a paid game.

Secondly, the game will be a multiplayer action-strategy game with a futuristic theme.

“It will be a quick to pick up match for two players or player vs AI,” David Peroutka says, adding that the game would be set in a distant future dominated by “evolved supercomputers and their robot armies.” – Quote via PocketGamer

“The game should be heavy on lasers, blasting, hacking and spawning of your own robots” explains Peroutka, promising that “it will look mindless, but there will be an underlying layer of strategy to it.”

From the sounds of it, it is looking like an RTS (Real-time strategy) type of game, similar to Art of War 2 by Herocraft for Android or, if you play a lot of PC games, Command & Conquer/Ages of Empire/Starcraft. Other then that, no details are being given out regarding the actual design of the game but you can bet it will look as good as it plays.

You can expect to see this game land on the Android Market sometime in 2011. When we know more, we will keep everyone updated.
