Minecraft: Pocket Edition scheduled update delayed, tools are included.

Now that everyone is in a happy mood with the past couple of articles, it is time to bring up some bad news unfortunately. Daniel Kaplan of Mojang who is in charge of overseeing pretty much everything dealing with Minecraft: Pocket Edition has posted an update regarding the status of the scheduled update for today.

Back in the beginning of January we reported on the fact that Minecraft: Pocket Edition was going to have a scheduled update for February 8th, 2012. That day is today. Unfortunately it looks like the update is going to be delay, as announced by Daniel Kaplan. The reason? Some bugs they need to fix. This update was suppose to be the first step in bringing Survival Mode to Minecraft: Pocket Edition by getting the back-end coding ready for when Survival Mode is ready.

Other features that would be coming with this update include some “neat looking blocks and new animals”. We will also see fences and doors become available as well. We now also know, thanks to a screenshot released, that tools will be available in this update. The infinity sign beside them just means unlimited amount of them although that will change when crafting comes to Minecraft: Pocket Edition.

No word yet on how long the delay will be. It could still make it out later today if they bugs are fixed. Last delay took about a week though so we must all be patient for now.
