Amazon’s new Kindle Fire HD tablets are already available for pre-order

Today Amazon held their press event in which they announced a new eReader along with a whole new line of Android Kindle Fire tablets. The new line of tablets, dubbed the Kindle Fire HD, comes in four different flavors depending on what your needs/desires are. There is the 7″ Kindle Fire HD WiFi, 8.9″ Kindle Fire HD WiFi, 8.9″ Kindle Fire HD 4G/LTE. Along with those three tablets, the Kindle Fire 2 tablet was also announced.

Hardware-wise, all the Kindle Fire 2 HD tablets come with a TI OMAP 4470 (1.5GHz dual-core), Dolby Digital speakers, 5GHz WiFi, and screens that are 254ppi 1920×1200 IPS displays for the 8.9″ while the 7″ runs at 1280×800 resolution. Obviously the screen sizes vary depending on which version you want, the 7″ or 8.9″. Also there is the 4G/LTE enabled 8.9″ Kindle Fire HD as well.

All of these tablets are pretty solid powerhouses on their own right. They also come with double the RAM the previous Kindle Fire came with. Each tablet also has a couple of different options in terms of storage space as well, with the WiFi versions coming in at 16GB or 32GB while the LTE version comes with 32GB or 64GB of space.

All three Kindle Fires HD tablets are available for pre-order starting right now and are slated to ship out on November 20th, 2012. The Kindle Fire 2 (basically an upgraded original Kindle Fire) is also available as well.
