You may or may not be familiar with the Foxconn suicide-inspired game, or the actual event that took place to inspire it, that was released last month onto the iOS App Store, and subsequently taken down recently for obvious reasons. Developed by Benjamin Poynter, In a Permanent Save State was inspired by the real-life suicides at Foxconn’s electronic manufacturing plants, for those of you not familiar with its inspiration.
Kemco, a game development company who almost exclusively releases old school style RPG titles, has released a new game for fans to sink their teeth into called End of Aspiration. As with a lot of Kemco’s previous titles, End of Aspiration features a good dose of retro style graphics mixed into a full-sized RPG concerning the fate of the world.
Miniclip continues on their journey of releasing rather interesting and fun games onto Android that you can usually find and play over at their main site. Their newest release is actually Part 2 in a series of games called Anger of Stick, which I believe there are a total of three or four of them so far. Fans of Gamevil’s popular RPG franchise Zenonia have some rather great news today. The fine folks over at Gamevil have announced a few moments ago that the newest addition to the series, Zenonia 5: Wheel of Destiny, will be arriving on Google Play this week. While it could be available at any time starting tomorrow, history shows that it will most likely arrive either on Thursday or Friday of this week.
The ‘Real-Time Strategy’ genre has never really flourished on Android with only a few titles of real note (Z Origins and Total War Battles to name a couple). I guess it makes sense with the fact that the most popular RTS games on the PC are mouse and keyboard driven. But with a mouse connected to my Nexus 7, I explored the Play store seeking an RTS game that could prove that this genre can be done right on an Android device. Robotic Planet RTS hit the mark perfectly.
Well Square Enix has released a new game for Android gamers who enjoy puzzle games. This particular title, called Motley Blocks, is pretty similar in style to another game we released talked about called Pixel Twist. Basically in this game, your job is to connect matching colored blocks, while they twirl around in a sort of cyclone pattern, in order to clear them and eventually make the image that you need to make, using the removed blocks, in order to move onto the next stage.
The developer of the rather popular Hard Line game for iOS and Android has hit up Kickstarter to help fund the final development of his next game called Fist Of Awesome. This epic sounding game is a retro style side-scrolling beat ’em up where you will be punching various woodland animals in the face. It’s alright to do that though since they are trying to do the same thing to you as well.
We all know that Madfinger Games’ newest multiplayer shooter is coming on the 15th November, but now they have also announced that the full game will be released with 10 playable characters, 6 maps and will be played across 2 game modes (deathmatch and capture point).
On Steam for PC, Beat Hazard has become one of the best Indie games, and now you can try the Android beta version before it hits the Play store. There are plenty of “bullet hell” shooters on Android, but Beat Hazard Ultra takes it to another level. You can pick your own music track to play while in game, and this then influences the difficulty of the level.
