We’ve been talking about the new series of pinball tables coming from Zen Studios themed around the Star Wars universe. Well now we have an official release date as well as some additional details that, if you’re planning on getting these tablets, you will want to know ahead of time.
The Star Wars pinball series of tables, with the first three tables to be released being Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, Boba Fett, and Star Wars: The Clone Wars, will actually be released as a stand alone application and not part of Zen Studios current Zen Pinball HD platform for Android. The new standalone application will be free to download just like Zen Pinball HD is and will offer up the new Star Wars pinball tables for purchase through IAPs.
Each table will cost $1.99 and come with a lot of eye candy, animation and effects aside from the standard Zen Pinball features such as global leaderboards, experience in-game friend challenges, local hotseat, online multiplayer and so on. You will be able to pick and choose what tables you want in the series at any time for purchase.
Star Wars pinball is slated for release on February 27th, 2013 onto Google Play. We will be sure to post an update when it actually arrives.
