Havok releases Project Anarchy, a free 3D mobile game development engine

If you’re a mobile game developer or looking to getting into developing mobile game, there are a few affordable choices out there. Unity3D is one such choice and there are a couple of other ones that offer up indie licenses or are open source. However Havok has decided to release Project Anarchy, a complete 3D game development engine designed for developing Android, iOS and Tizen games.

When they say free they actually mean free, stating that you can download and use the engine “without commercial restrictions on company size or revenue”. In other words, 100% free. The package includes tools from Havok’s other products but this time geared towards mobile game development. This doesn’t mean quality has been lessened though with these tools. These are full physics, animation and AI tools that Havok has developed.

There are some additional charges for things such as if you create a mobile game but decide down the road you want to also port it to PC. If you need extra support, there is also a fee for that. There is an online community though where you can get plenty of help. But when it comes to making and publishing mobile games, there are no charges at all.

If you’re interested in checking this out, downloading it and giving it a whirl, just head on over to the official site.
