Back in July we talked about Gameloft’s upcoming action game based off of the Thor universe called Thor: The Dark World which the company had begun teasing. Well Gameloft has decided to release a new trailer for it but as an exclusive video release over at Super Hero Hype for right now.
This new trailer shows a lot more of the gameplay than the previous teaser trailer Gameloft released back in July. In this game you’ll obviously be playing as Thor who will be leading the Asgardian forces against Marauders and Elves. You know how those pesky Elves can get.
As you can see in the trailer, this is an action-arcade style of game but don’t be surprised if there also happens to be RPG elements layered over that. We say this because the story, which is inspired from the upcoming movie, is actually a new original story and is co-written by famed Marvel writer Christopher Yost.
One thing we didn’t know is that Thor: The Dark World will actually have a multiplayer feature to it. This multiplayer style of gameplay will come in the form of players teaming up to battle stronger bosses. As for any sort of PvP, we don’t know any details on the possibility of that just yet.
Thor: The Dark World is slated for release sometime this Fall, most likely near the movie’s release in theaters. This will be a free-to-play game.
