Square Enix announces Mevius Final Fantasy, coming to Android soon

While Square Enix won’t be bringing Final Fantasy games from FF7 and up to mobile anytime soon, the company will be bringing Final Fantasy spin-offs, mini-games, and other titles based on the Final Fantasy world to Android. In fact they already have been doing this with titles like Final Fantasy G-Bike being released. The company’s newest title announced in the Final Fantasy franchise for Android is a game called Mevius Final Fantasy.

So what exactly will Mevius Final Fantasy be? Well in an interview with Famitsu, Square Enix mentioned that Mavius Final Fantasy will be a full installment into the franchise and not just a spin-off game. As promising as that sounds, it does get even better as the teaser site for this game has an English version which is something that doesn’t happen unless a game is getting a Western release as well.

As for the game itself, there isn’t a whole lot of details released about Mavius Final Fantasy right now other than Square Enix stating that this game will bring a “”full-scale, high-quality RPG world” to phones and tablets the likes of which hasn’t been seen before.

A new era of gaming is here. We’re crafting a full-scale, high-quality RPG world the likes of which has never been seen on smartphones and tablets. This is the end result of longtime FINAL FANTASY creators bringing the series to mobile – and things will never be the same. – From the Mavius Final Fantasy teaser site

While details are scare about the actual storyline and game, we do know a bit about who is all involved with this game: Yoshinori Kitase is acting as the producer. He’s previously directed Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII, and others. Kazushige Nojima is writing the game’s scenario. And he’s previously written for Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII, and Final Fantasy X and X-2.

Unfortunately there’s no exact release date or time frame as to when Mavius Final Fantasy will be released, only that it will be soon in 2015. When more details come to light, we will post an update.
