The Legend of Zelda could be the next Nintendo franchise to go mobile, according to The Wall Street Journal. We’re not sure exactly who the source is though. WSJ went with a cryptic “people familiar with the matter”.
It won’t arrive before Animal Crossing though, which is due to arrive this financial year. That ends in April 2018, but apparently it’s on course for a release before the end of the year. If that’s the case, we could see The Legend of Zelda in early 2018.
How could The Legend of Zelda look on mobile?
We’re also not clear on what form it will take. It could be a port of a handheld Zelda title, but judging from Nintendo’s mobile exploits so far, it’s more likely to be a trimmed down entry.
Perhaps it’s single room dungeon puzzles? A roguelike? Or a bow and arrow minigame? One of those was a joke.
Whatever form it takes, we sure can’t wait to play The Legend of Zelda on Android. Let us know how you think it will play in the comments.
