Dear Leader is an upcoming twin stick shooter in which demons invade North Korea, and it’s up to you to save the day. So you’ll assemble a team of heroes including Kim Jong-Un and a tree trunk-wielding lama.
If it sounds absolutely bonkers, that’s because it is. But the gameplay itself looks like an awful lot of fun. You’ll run around a variety of levels slaying endless streams of monsters.
There are a bunch of different weapons to choose from as well, like guns, magic, and, er, tree trunks.

The ultimate goal is to first save North Korea, then rebuild it. That’s far from an easy task though, but fortunately you can buy different equipment to help turn you into a monster killing machine.
Hack and slash and shooter fans alike will be in their element here. Even if you’re not a fan of the satirical humour, the gameplay itself looks like a decent way to kill time.
There’s not long to wait either, as Dear Leader will launch on Android on June 17th. In the meantime, you can learn more about the game on the official site.
