Try before you buy (or download) with Android Instant

Have you ever wished you could just try a game quickly before committing to a purchase or download? Well, your wish is Google’s command, as Android Instant is now a thing. It lets you try a game quickly before committing to downloading the entire thing.

There is still a small download for Android Instant games, which makes sense because you can’t play nothing. But you can test games much faster than before.

Sure, this won’t really be of consequence for smaller, sillier games, but it could really benefit sizeable games. You know, the likes of which Gameloft usually puts out.

What we really want to know though, is whether developers of premium titles will release bitesize versions of games for you to test. For example, you could have a single battle in Baldur’s Gate.

That way you could check out the interface, see if the gameplay is for you, and stuff like that before you commit to the massive price and download.

Android Instant will be available on Google Play soon, and you can check out instant games right on the store pages. It’s currently in closed beta though, so you’ll have to wait a bit longer.
