Nitrome’s offerings are always good value, and its latest creation, Spike City, looks no different. It’s a fiendishly simple puzzle platformer that hides a lot of depth behind its intuitive control scheme.
All you have to do is swipe in the direction that you want to fling your spikey hero. It will then fly until it hits a surface, at which point it will become stuck until you fling it again.

Using these simple controls you’ll beat enemies, avoid obstacles, and collect coins. Occasionally, you’ll come across a boss too, which will require you to use everything you’ve learned so far to beat it.
You can spend coins you gather on new characters if you’re not a fan of a spikey square with eyeballs. You may even recognise a fair few characters from prior Nitrome games.
