Augmented reality title Skyjacker has arrived on Android, and it asks you to hunt down real-life planes while you travel the globe.
Now that may sound like it’s nothing more than a glorified plane-spotter’s plaything, but this has a lot more to it than it would seem at first glance.
And it’s a lot more fun than standing outside a sodden airfield just waiting for a pic of the plane that’s been delayed by three hours.
Taking flight with SkyJacker
So Skyjacker basically asks you to use an in-game radar scanner and binoculars to find airplanes flying near you in real-life. You then divert flights, make demands and battle it out with other players to unlock achievements.
Yes, it all sounds a bit odd – but it’s basically a bit like Flight Control. Just with an added dose of real life added in. Which is may be a good or bad thing depending on your perspective.
You can take SkyJacker for a test flight on Android and see right now by downloading it on Google Play.
