You wouldn’t have thought a game called PERFECT World could be improved, but names can be deceiving.
In fact, this mobile spinoff of a classic Chinese PC MMORPG has just enjoyed a massive overhaul in it latest update, and the star of the show is undoubtedly Realm War, a massive cross-server battle mode.
In case you’re not already familiar with PERFECT World Mobile, its roots go all the way back to 2005, when it was launched on PC in China.
A massively multiplayer online role-playing game in the vein of World of Warcraft, It quickly gained a loyal following in China and abroad, thanks to its well-balanced gameplay, impeccable presentation, and novel Chinese mythological setting.
Fast forward a decade and a half and here we are, playing PERFECT World on our smartphones in the form of PERFECT World Mobile.
Realm War see players heading into battle in parties of six to take on rival teams of six from other servers.
The winning team receives glory, of course, but also more concrete rewards such as Eidolon Elixirs, Advanced Soulstones, and the level 6 Sacred Book. There’s only one restriction: to fight in a realm war you need to be at least level 69.
Of course, the goodies don’t stop there. The latest PERFECT World Mobile update also brings a new class change feature, allowing you to change class at any time by visiting Archosaur City and picking up a makeover scroll.
While getting a makeover will reset your skill level and your Sage/Demon skill level, but you’ll get to keep all your lovely skill points, and you can change back at any time.
Meanwhile soulstones, legendary equipment, engravings, artifacts, rank rings, rank equipment, and cultivation points will all be converted for your new class.
The latest PERFECT World Mobile update also adds three gorgeous new maps, including the frosty Harshlands, the lush (and presumably blustery) Windy Meadow, and the dusty Dragon Wilderness. Explore them to find hidden treasures and tough new monsters.
There are new dungeons, too, and areas of existing areas such as Frostfall City have been unlocked, letting you hunt for the treasure within.
PERFECT World Mobile was already a pretty substantial offering, but this latest update really takes it to another level, adding new modes, items, adventures, and other content galore. The only way to fully grasp the scale of the update is to get stuck in.
