Angry Birds Journey, the “uber-approachable” entry in the long-running Angry Birds franchise, has gone live in soft launch in a handful of territories.
Those territories are the US, Canada, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, and Poland.
Following a series of ill-fated experiments with the Angry Birds licence, including a tennis game, a soccer game, and a management sim, Rovio has seemingly gone back to basics with Angry Birds Journey.
The game is built on classic slingshot gameplay of the original, and sees you hurling birds (angry ones) at rickety structures sheltering green pigs. It features characters from across the franchise, along with some new faces.
Rovio also promises an “exciting adventure with new locales to discover and explore”.
It looks solid. If you’re fortunate enough to live on the North American continent or one of the handful of European countries where the soft launch is going live, you can download Angry Birds Journey for free right now.
