League of Legends: Wild Rift Launches in the Americas with a ‘Monstrous’ 2.2 Patch

League of Legends: Wild Rift, the long-awaited mobile spin-off of Riot Games’s hugely influential League of Legends, is finally out in the America, several months after it rolled out in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.

Better still, the version washing up today in the Americas is the best one yet. League of Legends: Wild Rift 2.2 boasts “a horde of champs, changes, and choices”.

The new champion is Galio the Colossus, and he’ll be available from April the 1st. Unless it’s a trick. Galio is a massive stone colossus who keeps watch over the Great City of Demacia until activated. Then he starts kicking ass.

There’s also a new feature in the 2.2 patch called Position Preference. Like position select in the original League of Legends, it gives you more control over your positioning in the game by allowing you to select lane preferences prior to the start of a match. Unfortunately, this one isn’t coming to the Americas right away.

Ranked Season 2 is incoming, too. From April the 2nd you’ll be able to win Glorious Jinx by reaching Gold with ten wins or more.

You can download League of Legends: Wild Rift (finally) right now on the Google Play Store.
