Best New Android Games This Week – Duck Souls, Chicken Police, SNKRX and More

Well, another week has shuttled past, paying little or no heed to our needs or wants. But a bunch of games came out on the Play Store, so it’s not all bad news.

This week we’ve got action RPGs, an awesome hardcore platformer, and a game featuring detectives with the heads of chickens. Gaming really is a wonderful pastime.

You can click on the names of the games to grab them from the Play Store. And if you think we’ve missed anything, be sure to yell at us about it in the comments section at the bottom of the article.

Brave Cano

A gorgeous-looking, cartoon-style ARPG that follows the titular Cano through a series of adventures. The combat is surprisingly deep, the story is going to keep you entertained, and it’s damn pleasant to look at too. The game is premium and it’ll set you back $4.99.

SNKRX

A mesmerizing, minimalist action roguelike that sees you building a snake out of different classes of characters. You get bonuses for making different combinations, there are loads of different classes and you’re going to have to have fast fingers to get through all 25 levels. SNKRX is a premium game and it’ll set you back $2.99.

Froglike: The Frog Roguelike

It’s an animal-heavy edition of games of the week from here and on. Froglike is a fast-paced game of bouncing around lily-pads and trying not to die. It fits nicely into bite-sized gaming sessions, and it looks pretty neat too. It’s a free game that’s supported by adverts.

Duck Souls

A super tough hardcore platformer that sees you playing as a duck. You need to collect eggs to make sure your species survives. It’s the sort of game that’s going to leave your palms all sweaty in the best possible ways. Duck Souls is a premium game and it’ll set you back $1.99.

Chicken Police: Paint it Red

The final entry in our animal triumvirate features anthropomorphic police officers solving crimes in a noir-style setting. It’s a mix between a point-and-click adventure and a visual novel and it’s got a pretty wicked sense of humor. Chicken Police is a premium game and it’ll cost you $8.99 if you want to try it out.
