So we figured it was a good idea to have a look at the best peaceful games on the Play Store. These are games that will make you think, and hopefully add a bit more joy into your life.

You can click on the names of the games below to download them from the Play Store, and unless otherwise noted they’re premium. If you’ve got your own favorite, make sure you let us all know about it in the comments section.

A lovely game about holes, raccoons and trash. It’s the kind of thing it’s impossible to play without grinning at least once. There’s charm here, as well as challenge.

Florence

A lovely game about the pleasures and pains of love. It follows every step of a relationship, from that heart-skipping first meeting to the slow sadness of falling apart.

Botanicula

This one sees you controlling a plucky bunch of tree creatures who find their home inundated by creepy creatures. You need to use logic to solve puzzles, with the story told without words. We could have put all of Amanita’s games here, so play them too.

Gorogoa

A wonderful game that’s all about exploring through different images, shifting perspectives and fitting things together to create new avenues to head down. It’s like falling through a massive work of art, uncovering a story as you plunge.

Lumino City

Explore a cardboard city, solving puzzles as you work through the often breathtaking creations. Everything in the game is built from hand, and poking into every nook and cranny is an absolute joy.

The Almost Gone

A detective story that’s all about piecing together fragments of shattered memory. It looks wonderful, and every step along the path sees you working your way closer to a heartbreaking truth.

Alto’s Adventure

Slide down a gorgeous, pastel-colored mountain, leaping over crevasses and trying to collect your wayward flock of llamas. There’s a simple pleasure in its gameplay that will keep you coming back over and over and over again. It’s free with IAP.

Old Man’s Journey

A beautifully animated tale that takes you through gorgeous backdrops on an emotional and affecting journey. You’re manipulating the ground beneath your feet to solve simple, pressure-less puzzles.

Prune

This one is about cutting off the branches of a tree to help it grow. Well, it’s actually about a lot more than that, but we’ll let you discover that for yourself. It’s a free-form puzzler that’s understated and poignant.

Monument Valley

Both Monument Valley games could have made their way onto this list, but we decided to just stick with the original. It’s a thought-provoking puzzler about manipulating worlds and making connections. If you haven’t played it yet, please rectify that as soon as possible.
