In May, Teeny Tiny Trains’ creators Short Circuit Studios opened pre-registration for their upcoming survival city-builder Dawnfolk. While the game is launching in August, the studio is giving its preview through the new TownsFolk x Dawnfolk crossover.

It’s a new update in TownsFolk, where the guest of honour is from Dawnfolk. During the event, you’ll get a mysterious visitor, a handful of new puzzles, and a story that links two indie city-building worlds together.

Interestingly, this is TownsFolk’s first crossover event!

The main character of the update is Lueur, the flame guide from Dawnfolk. He unexpectedly appears on the frontier of TownsFolk after a strange light is spotted beyond the settlement’s borders. As settlers investigate, they discover that Lueur has somehow wandered into their world.

Following Lueur’s path unlocks six new story-driven puzzles inspired by the lands beyond the darkness. The TownsFolk x Dawnfolk crossover storyline focuses on exploration, friendship, and discovery, gradually connecting the worlds.

Apart from the new puzzles, the update adds some other new features to the game as well. Android players finally get Cloud Saves, allowing settlements to move across supported devices without losing progress. The patch also includes adjustments to Parliament policies and tweaks to deforestation mechanics.

Excited for the tiny little TownsFolk x Dawnfolk crossover?

If you play TownsFolk, you already know what the game is about. If not, well, it’s a roguelite colony builder built around short, fast-paced settlement runs. You juggle food, gold, faith, and production while clearing fog and surviving disasters.

On the other hand, Dawnfolk combines minimalist survival mechanics with puzzles as you rebuild a kingdom buried beneath perpetual darkness. As ruler of the realm, you work alongside a fiery companion to illuminate tiles, uncover resources, and push back dangerous shadow storms spreading across the land.

To jump into the crossover, grab TownsFolk from the Google Play Store.
