The Best New Games for Android This Week – Diablo Immortal, Doki Doki Ragnarok and More

Another week is dwindling away into the twilight of memory, stained or rose-tinted, depending on how it went. Which means it’s time for us to take a long, hard look at the very best games that came out for Android over the past seven days.

Obviously the big kahuna is Diablo Immortal, but there are plenty of other interesting games that have landed this week that are worth checking out as well. And most of them are premium as well.

You can click on the names of the games below to download them from the Play Store, and unless otherwise noted they’re premium experiences. Got your own favorite from the past division of time that isn’t included? Let us know in the comments section then.

Pinku Kult: Hex Mortis

A weird RPG built around the aesthetic of a shiny goth-ish clothing brand shouldn’t really be any good. And yet here we are – Pinku Kult: Hex Mortis is a neat mix of turn-based battles and crime-solving with a bizarre look that’s all its own. It’s well worth checking out if you like a little dalliance with the dark side.

Paperback Vol. 2

Everyone loves a deck-building card game, but how about a word-based deck-building card game? That’s the basic idea behind Paperback, and this sequel continues the thread with aplomb. You’re creating words from the cards you collect, and this time round there’s cooperative play as well.

Doki Doki Ragnarok

This week seems to be big on the mash-ups, but Doki Doki Ragnarok is probably the most esoteric of them. Ostensibly it’s about invading villages, but really you’re trying to woo them. It’s part visual novel, part strategy game and it’s every bit as gloriously bonkers as it sounds.

Flewfie’s Adventure

This one’s a shooter that sees you playing an adorable kitty that’s out to save the universe. You’re upgrading your UFO, making friends with a cast of characters and also playing a card game for your troubles. It might look cute, but there are some delicious sharp edges here as well.

Diablo Immortal

Sure, it’s taken a good long while to come out, and sure it’s got a few problems, but overall Diablo Immortal is a decent chunk of fun. There’s plenty to do, it looks gorgeous and while it is free to play, there’s enough here to keep you interested. It’s Diablo on your phone, what’s not to like?
