Webzen has announced that Awaken Legends: IDLE RPG, the studio’s latest casual RPG for mobile, will go into soft launch tomorrow – but only in select regions.
As you can suspect from the name, Awaken Legends: Idle RPG sees you collect a wide variety of heroes, create a party out of them, and send them on an adventure across a gorgeous world.
In fact, they’ll do that themselves. As an idle RPG, Awaken Legends largely plays without your input, with you dropping in every now and then to adjust your party, level up your heroes, or equip them with loot that dropped while you were asleep.
The story involves you helping the greatest wizard of all time, Merlin, fend off a vicious invasion by the Dark Creatures born in the void. They want to destroy the world of Westland, and you have to recruit heroes to battle them off.
In total, there are over 50 heroes to collect, each of which has their own beautiful artwork, backstory, and skills. Creating the perfect party out of them is the key challenge here.
Do so though and you can progress in the story, as well as a wealth of other PVE modes. That’s without mentioning the PVP portion of the game, which will really put your skills to the test.
You might have worked hard on building the perfect party, but so have your opponents. So you’ll have to try and counter them with nifty hero choices.
Fortunately, you can mitigate this somewhat by playing with friends. Awaken Legends features plenty of social play for those that don’t like to gacha alone.
