Happy Saturday, everyone. Hope you’ve had an excellent week. It’s that time again, where we pick what we think are the five best games that have been released on Android over the past seven days.
This time around we’ve got a couple of Square Enix remasters, a Pokemon MOBA and a slick card game that’s painfully addictive. We’ve even got a skateboarding priest. Because that’s the sort of week it’s been.
You can click on the name of any of the games below to download them from the Play Store. Unless otherwise noted, they’re premium. Oh, and if you think we’ve missed anything, let us know in the comments.
Pokemon Unite
A game that sits somewhere between the hardcore and midcore ends of the MOBA spectrum. It’s action-packed, but lacks the depth of the likes of League of Legends: Wild Rift. There’s a lot of fun to be had if you’re willing to put some time into it, though. This one’s free with IAP.
Unholy Society
A point-and-click adventure packed full of nods and winks to 80’s and 90’s movies, popular culture and comic books. You’re playing a boozy exorcist on a mission from the pope. There’s combat, hidden objects and loads more. The first chunk is free, and you can unlock the rest with an IAP.
Collection of SaGa Final Fantasy Legend
This is a bundle of three classic Gameboy RPGs. So you’re getting a trio of games for the price of one, sort of. If you’re a fan of old school JRPGs then you’re going to love everything this package has to offer. It’s not cheap, but what is these days?
Actraiser Renaissance
Another Square Enix remaster. This time it’s of a classic from the SNES era that mixes together action platforming, city-building and RTS elements to make something pretty darn unique. It’s another expensive one, so it might be worth waiting for a sale. Or getting an emulator.
Indies’ Lies
A deck-building, dungeon-crawling roguelite that owes more than a little to Slay the Spire. It’s more than a clone, though, adding its own ideas and art-style to make something that’s a whole chunk of fun. It’s free to play, but not painfully so.
