Anime Defenders Shiny Guide
A shiny unit is a rare edition of that unit which takes on a new appearance and a 5% DMG buff versus its normal form. Any unit regardless of rarity has a shiny which you obtain through summons and limited banners. (Or Raid Shop for the unique units which appear here, though this isn’t the typical obtainment method).
The exact chances for a shiny aren’t known, but if you want to increase your odds then Anime Defenders provides a permanent shiny hunter gamepass for 1,299 Robux. Of course, if you want to keep your playthrough F2P friendly, then you’ll have to forfeit getting this gamepass.
A perk of shiny hunting is that once you’ve obtained a shiny of any unit, you can apply their skin to your avatar. What this means is that your avatar will take on the appearance including pose, outfit and aura of your shiny units! This doesn’t transcend the game and unlock new wearables outside of Anime Defenders, sadly.
How To Shiny Hunt
The best way to shiny hunt is to bulk buy summons. Whilst there isn’t a bundle deal on summons since 1 pull costs 50 Gems and 10 costs 500, it is the most efficient way to expand your unit inventory and aim for a shiny. You’ll know when you’ve received a shiny as the unit will have a unique appearance. Usually, this is in the form of a new outfit and pose, and including (Shiny) written beside their name.
