You may have thought that the way you design your garden doesn’t make much of a difference apart from aesthetic reasons. That being said, there are a few tips to take into consideration when designing your perfect plot of land to maximise space. We’ll go through the best layout in Grow a Garden and explain why.

Let’s get straight into it!
Positioning Trees
Trees are some of the best crops you can have in your garden, as most of them will continue producing fruit. However, you may have noticed there are some trees you cannot climb. In your garden, make sure you plant trees close together. Not only does this mean you can fit more produce in your garden, but you can also use the trees to climb onto bigger trees.
Personally, I enjoy placing apple trees near my coconut trees. Apple trees tend to be smaller. Which means I can jump on top of them to reach the coconuts, as you can’t climb coconut trees. It’s also a good idea to plant trees towards the back of your garden, which I’ll explain why later!
Planting Bamboo
Bamboo is a one-time use crop, which means once you collect it, it disappears. However, I suggest you plant bamboo near trees as well, and not to collect them. You can climb on your bamboo, which can help you reach fruit you otherwise can’t reach. Similar to what I do with apple trees, I try to plant bamboo near large trees I can’t climb, as I can climb up the bamboo to collect my other crops!
Placing Crops
It’s a good idea to plant smaller crops at the front sections of your garden, such as strawberries and corn. I mentioned earlier that you should plant trees and larger crops at the back of your garden. This is so you can separate the big and the small. Aside from looking nicer, if you start planting small strawberries near the large crops, you might forget they’re there, as they will be hidden by the trees!
A good rule of thumb is to plant small crops at the front, medium crops in the middle (this tends to be bush crops such as blueberries and raspberries). As well as cranberries and eggplants. Finally, the tall and large crops at the back.
How To Move Crops
If you’re regretting placing a crop somewhere, you don’t need to use a shovel to destroy it. Instead, head to the gear shop and purchase a Trowel. This costs 100,000$ and it allows you to move your crops without destroying them. It has a limit of 5 uses before you need to buy another.
