If you like playing with your friends online, mobile is a great platform for you. There’s a treasure trove of multiplayer gaming options right in the palm of your hand. But where do you start? Well, that’s where we come in. Below we’ll round up our favourite multiplayer options in a variety of genres.
Best Multiplayer Games on Android 2020
Best Shooter: Call of Duty Mobile
If you like shooting your friends and enemies with a big gun, it doesn’t get much better than Call of Duty Mobile. It does a decent job of translating the experience to mobile, with a wealth of content from the earlier games in the series.
Best Hero Shooter: Brawl Stars
Brawl Stars is our favourite hero shooter on mobile. It combines the best of Overwatch and MOBAs to create an entirely unique experience. There’s a wealth of heroes to choose from, modes to play, and cosmetics to unlock.
Best MMORPG: RuneScape (and OSRS)
We’re lumping both RuneScapes into the winning category, as they’re both great and suited to different audiences. If you like your games hardcore, go with Old School RuneScape. However, if casual fun is more your jam, regular RuneScape is more for you.
Best Sports: NBA 2K20
NBA 2K20 is our favourite sports game on mobile. It offers a terrific version of the sport for the small screen that isn’t a million miles away from the console version, and features a variety of awesome multiplayer modes.
Best Card: Hearthstone
Hearthstone remains the king of card games on mobile. It still gets regular content updates and features a wealth of modes to dip into, depending on what you fancy. It’s also relatively friendly to the newcomer, so give it a go.
Best MOBA: Vainglory
Vainglory might be about to face stiffer competition from League of Legends, but at this point it remains top of the pile on mobile. It’s been out for ages, but still looks great and has a wealth of heroes to choose from.
