Personalities are a slightly obscure, but lowkey important mechanic in Bizarre Lineage. If you want to reach peak with whatever build you’re aiming for, you really need to hit the correct Stand personality. What’s the correct one? That’s what this Bizarre Lineage personality tier list is here to explain.
Bizarre Lineage Personality Tier List
If you’re not sure about what a personality is, we’ll cover some of this in the FAQ at the bottom, though we’d recommend taking a peek at our Bizarre Lineage personality guide if you’d like to understand all of the stuff listed below in a bit more depth.
S Tier
These are the best Stand personalities in our opinion. They have very good buffs that improve pretty much any build, and you don’t need to play differently to accommodate it. If you get these, you better have a ton of Lucky Essences to roll for another S Tier, but we’d suggest just sticking with them.
- Transcendent – Just a bunch of very good overall buffs. There’s really no build that won’t be much better with this. The best in the game right now.
- Elegant – Maybe not as universal as Transcendent as it favours a certain playstyle, but the buffs are good enough that you’ll still get use out of it regardless. If you want to play speedy and aggressive, this is probably your pick.
A Tier
Very strong. These might be a bit less impressive that S Tier, or have some drawbacks. They’re still a considerable advantage though, so we’d say be careful about rerolling these unless you have Lucky Essences.
- Feral – Powerful but very risk/reward. The best attack buff in the game, but also comes with a pretty significant penalty to your defence. If you’re confident you have the skill to block and dodge, you might want to consider this one, but it’s not for the faint hearted.
- Cursed – Basically a weaker version of Transcendent, so obviously not S, but it’s really just a good universal boost so we can’t complain about it.
- Rhythmic – Power regen is something you’re definitely going to use, so a very good buff to have.
- Artistic – Somewhat build dependent, but guardbreak isn’t all that tricky to do, and you can really mess up an opponent with this.
- Suffocating – This is kind of specific to certain moves, and possibly certain Stands, but it’s extremely potent when it works.
- Furious – This can come in clutch when you need it the most, and the buff is a lot stronger than Dominant.
- Durable – You don’t have to worry much about status effects. Awesome.
B Tier
Good. These are unspectacular, but not bad. You’ll definitely benefit from the buffs these give, but they might be less potent, more situational, or have some notable drawbacks that set them back.
- Methodical – Great if you are very good at timing and can score Perfect Blocks reliably. If you can’t, it’s not super helpful.
- Dominant – Maybe a little less skill-dependent than Methodical, though still depends on not getting hit.
- Determined – The buff is good, though you can potentially lose it fairly fast, too.
- Compassionate – Great if you have a healing focus. If not you’re out of luck.
- Fearful – Situational, though a good way to mitigate the strength of Artistic.
C Tier
Generally weak buffs which don’t give you a huge advantage.
- Slugger – It’s fine, though doesn’t feel massive.
- Kind – If you want a healing buff, Compassionate is much better and not super rare.
- Curious – Evasive is good, though unless it’s something you use a LOT it’s probably not something you’ll want to keep around.
- Astute – Probably on the B/C line here. Handy if an opponent won’t stop blocking but not really universal enough to be preferable over something like Determined.
- Predictive – If you Counter a lot, sure. If not, in the bin.
- Happy – Buff is small, but it is useful.
- Arrogant – Decent… as long as you never get hit, which is a tall order.
- Firm – The benefits are small, but easier to achieve than Erratic, as long as you’re careful not to get guardbroken.
- Erratic – The Power restore is small, bit on the other hand you may be dodging a lot if that’s your playstyle… but it’s harder to pull off than Firm.
- Energetic – It’s not a bad buff, but honestly you might not notice.
D Tier
Weak, or extremely situational. Get a a Personality Essence and reroll whenever you get the chance, most things are better than these.
- Cowardly – Handy in very specific circumstances, but there are so many better ones.
