Can Pets Spread The Friendbound Mutation to Other Crops in Grow a Garden?
The short answer is no, pets cannot spread the Friendbound Mutation to other crops. This seems contradictory, considering the ability of some pets is to mimic mutations and apply them elsewhere, so why isn’t it possible?
The Exclusive Friendbound
Friendbound is a completely legit mutation with a unique obtainment unlike any other. It’s not admin only, it’s not weather or events, it’s not pets either.
The Friendbound Mutation only manifests within a Friendship Pot, a 2-player Gear that allows a friend to tend to one crop within a different garden. Within its life cycle, the Friendship Pot plant has a chance to develop the Friendbound Mutation, increasing its value by 70x, and changing its visuals to a cutesy pink with heart and star particles.
Since this plant is bound by a pot and not owned by one player, it won’t spread from pet abilities. This adds more incentive for players to discover this mutation organically and truly only invest in it with friends, rather than to farm sheckles.
Which Pets Can Spread Mutations
Whilst this may not work on the Friendship Pot, it does work on other mutations! So, if you want to increase the efficiency of your garden whilst building profits, I recommend enlisting these pets:
- Fennec Fox
- Copy the mutation from another fruit and apply it to a fruit in its owner’s garden. (Minus Dawnbound and Friendbound)
- T-Rex
- Removes the mutation from a fruit and applies it across three fruits nearby instead. (Minus Gold, Rainbow, and Friendbound)
- Spinosaurus
- Removes a random mutation from three fruits and applies it to one other fruit, prioritising favourite fruits. (Minus Gold, Rainbow, and Friendbound)
