What Is The Cattle Car?
The Cattle Car is one of the new train classes added to Dead Rails in the latest update. It’s a major upgrade on the default train. The Cattle Car is partially covered, though the walls don’t deflect bullets from Outlaws unless the carriage is reinforced with metal plating. The Cattle Car comes with a roof, and a ladder up to the top. This is great for mounted weapons, and creating a spot for sniping.
How Do You Get The Cattle Car?
You can buy the Cattle Car from the Train Station. You’ll find the Train Station in the lobby, closest to the train tracks. Speak to the NPC at the counter to take a look at the available trains. The Cattle Car is for sale for 225 Bonds. Yeah, train classes are quite a bit more expensive than character classes.
Is The Cattle Car Worth It?
We think the Cattle Car is a pretty good choice if you’re not eager to put up the Bonds for the Armored Train, or find the Armored Train’s downsides a bit off-putting. It gives you the second floor to place a turret and get away from ground level, and it’s easy to fortify. We would only not recommend it if you were short on Bonds, and an exclusively solo player, as you lose quite a few of the benefits that way.
