What Is The Best Train In Dead Rails?

Feature image for our guide asking the question what is the best train in Dead Rails? It shows the Train Station vendor in-game.

The latest Dead Rails update introduced train classes, and so you have a new choice to make with your setup. So, what is the best train in Dead Rails? That’s what we’re here to discuss. We’ve put our takes on which trains are great, and which are terrible.

You can play Dead Rails right now on Roblox. Maybe take a look at our Dead Rails train classes guide, too.

What Is The Best Train In Dead Rails?

We’ve listed what we think is the best, an honorable mention, and which we think is the worst.

What’s The Best Train?

In our opinion, the best train currently in the game is the Armored Train. Now, this train isn’t without its downsides. The Armored Train consumes more fuel, and it takes longer to reach full speed, though its full speed is the same as the Default Train.

While it has downsides, it more than makes up for its flaws by being extremely well defended. The walls are armored and won’t let shots through. Even better, it comes with turrets built in as standard. Even better than that, a necromancer or an eggslinger can create minions to man the turrets and act as auto turrets. Amazing!

What’s A Good Train?

Armored Train is great. Also very good? Cattle Car. This train is cheaper than the Armored Train. Its wooden walls won’t stop bullets, but it’s a lot easier to fortify than the Default Train. It’s also got a ladder that lets you stand on the roof… a perfect place to weld a turret.

What’s The Worst Train?

In terms of value for money? Definitely the Gold Rush. It’s very expensive, and it doesn’t offer anything in terms of mechanical benefits. We can only recommend it if you just really like it as a cosmetic. Or maybe you want to show off. We won’t judge. Just don’t buy it if you want a better train in any way that gives you an in-game advantage.
