New trails just pulled into Dead Rails with the last update! Now, you can make big changes to your trip… if you’ve got the Bonds for it. Our Dead Rails train classes guide is here to run over each of the train types in-game, and what they can do.
Dead Rails is on Roblox. If you want to know all about the latest content for the game, maybe take a look at our Dead Rails update guide.
Dead Rails Train Classes Guide
First, we’ll run over the train classes, and how to get them.
Train Types
There are currently four different types of train.
Default Train – Free
The regular train that you get when you start. No special abilities as such.
Gold Rush – 250 Bonds
Basically just the regular train, but much shinier. Basically just useful if you want to flex having so many bonds you can drop 250 of them on a solid gold train.
Cattle Car – 225 Bonds
A better defended train enclosed on most sides, with two doors at the end, and a ladder that lets you climb on top. Has a useful extra layer of defense and is easier to fortify. Keep in mind that Outlaws can shoot through the walls of the Cattle Car carriage.
Armored Train – 275 Bonds
A heavily armored train that comes with pre-installed turrets. Friendly Outlaw entities will man the turrets it placed nearby.
Walls will deflect bullets from Outlaws, but there are a lot of open areas that will need to be covered with metal plating.
The Armored Train takes longer to reach full speed and consumes more fuel to keep running.
How To Get New Train Types
You can pick up new train types from the Train Station shop in the Lobby. You should find it on the right, closest to the train tracks. Head in and speak to the NPC at the desk to view the available trains. All the train classes are bought using Bonds. Quite a lot of bonds, actually.
