Fool’s Gold Game Mode
So what’s the mode about? Fools Gold is a game mode quite similar to a regular run, with one major change, and that is the Fool’s Gold. Fool’s Gold looks exactly like a gold nugget. You’ll find it in major structures, like towns, the Castle, the Tesla Lab etc. If you mouse over them you’ll see the label ‘Fool’s Gold’.
The interesting part of Fool’s Gold comes when you trade one in at a Trading Post. You may get any number of different things in return for trading it in. You can get a lot of helpful items in return for Fool’s Gold.
The object of the game mode is to find the Fool’s Key, a key item you can get from Fool’s Gold. Once you have it, you can use it to open a vault in the end fort to get a bunch of fancy items, and finish the game mode. Nice.
