Dead Rails Necromancer Class Guide
Now, to explain the class.
About The Necromancer
The Necromancer is a class that makes friends easily. Literally. Any monsters killed with your melee attack have a 25% chance of resurrecting as a friendly undead who will attack your enemies. This comes at a price though, as each dead raised will cost the Necromancer 10HP.
The Necromancer is equipped with a shovel to start. They don’t spawn with any undead servants, but you should find some likely candidates pretty quickly.
How To Get The Necromancer
As with a lot of the classes, (aside from Horse), you can get Necromancer at the Tailor for 35 Bonds. This vendor is found in the lobby, before you enter a run. Once you’ve bought a class, make sure to equip it via the Tailor if you want to use the class on your next run, because it might now be equipped.
Is The Necromancer Worth It?
Necromancer has the distinct advantage of being able to turn all the various bodies lying everywhere into weapons. Compared to the Packmaster class, you have a lot more of your core resource to work on. The major price is that every minion you res will cost you health.
The HP drain downside isn’t a huge deal in Normal mode, as you’re likely to regen the lost health over time. It does become a bigger issue in Nightmare Mode, where you only get health back with healing items. Combination with a Musician might make the Necromancer pretty viable even in Nightmare, but solo players would have a rocky ride.
