Dead Rails Werewolf Class Guide
First we’ll explain the class, then how to get it. Finally, we’ll give our opinion on the class and how good it is.
About The Werewolf
The Werewolf is a new class added on the April 11th update. The Werewolf gives you a wolf-like head with glowing eyes. It’s more than cosmetic, though. Werewolves get double speed, double damage, and double health at night. The downside of this is that all these stats are lower than the default during the day, but by about 10%.
The Werewolf starts a run with just a shovel by default.
How To Get Werewolf
Like most classes, you can get hold of the Werewolf class through the Tailor in the lobby. You buy it using Bonds. It costs 50 Bonds to buy Werewolf, making it notably cheaper than the similar Vampire class, though its starting gear is worse than Vampire’s.
You can earn Bonds in several different ways. You receive 10 Bonds for completing a run, or 20 Bonds in Nightmare mode. You get Bond rewards for completing challenges during a run. You can also find them in structures. The Town Of Sterling has guaranteed unguarded Bonds in the abandoned town buildings.
Is The Werewolf Class Worth It?
The Werewolf is a potentially super-powerful class as long as you are aware of its limitations. Werewolves hit harder, run faster, and become tankier after dark, while they’re a little weaker than average during the day. This does encourage a bit of risk-or-reward playing, because the time you’re at your strongest is also the time things are most dangerous.
Werewolves make good fighters, and can make night raids on targets viable, if not a good option. The daytime debuff is annoying, but it’s not a deal breaker.
