Dig Abyssal Shovel Obtainment – Find The Boss!
From Fox Town, where you have your humble beginnings, head out of the town via the path near the Magnet Merchant NPC. Follow this path downwards and take a sharp right, sticking to the path, where you should find the Cinder Shores area.
Near the Mechanic NPC, along the shore, is where the King Crab boss occasionally spawns. To unlock the Abyssal Shovel, you must help defeat him when he emerges.
How To Defeat King Crab
Like other bosses in the game, defeating the King Crab requires server-wide effort and a lot of digging! Enter the zone on the floor and strike the sand to deal damage. Whilst battling, you must avoid the red targets, which signal the King Crab is about to throw rocks sporadically to kill players. If you die, you’ll return to Fox Town and may miss out on defeating him.
The King Crab has 35,000 HP, making it one of the easier bosses to take down.

- Control: 5
- Strength: 9
- Haste: 1
- Luck: 20
- Boss DMG: 35
- Preferred Ground: Rock
The Abyssal Shovel has well-balanced stats, aside from its weak Haste. But this isn’t a dealbreaker. If you’re decent at the dig minigame and don’t often miss strikes which put you on cooldown, you’ll enjoy using this otherwise overpowered tool.
However, if you do struggle with striking the ground in time, I recommend opting for something else, as you’ll most likely lose out on treasure with this Shovel. I linked a guide to the Candlelight Shovel above, which is a great alternative to this one!
