What Are Runes?
Runes allow you to unlock new areas around the main Halloween Spotlight hub, leading to more of the limited UGC cosmetics. Keys, however, unlock special doors leading to exclusive UGCs per zone.
Easiest Halloween Spotlight Runes to Get
99 Nights in the Forest
- Trick or Treat at one of the NPCs’ houses.
When starting a new campaign, you’ll find candles in chests or when killing Cultists (during base raids). Use the candle to ignite one of the homes with a lantern at the front, then visit the house at nighttime to trick or treat.
Hint: I recommend completing this challenge with other players to speed up the process of finding a candle and unlocking a home!
Build a Zoo
- Collect 20 Candies
Check the Candy Event tab in-game to find out the daily quest requirements and their rewards. More often than not, being online for 20 minutes will award you 10 Candies.
I recommend staying online for 40 minutes to claim 20 Candies.
Or, claim the 10 Candies for being online for 20 minutes, and in that time, check the weather tab at the bottom and wait for the Halloween Event, and then purchase a mutated egg to earn 12 Candies, totalling 22 Candies.
Driving Empire
- Smash 100 Zombies around the map.
Select your car and begin driving! I recommend staying around intersections, as this is where hordes of zombies spawn. They’re easy to flatten and hardly pose a threat.
Armless Detective
- Beat the Cursed Cathedral map
Use your notepad to track clues and choose the correct suspect to earn this Rune. There’s no time limit, and the game is pretty easy to figure out if you choose to do the tutorial level too.

Dress To Impress
- Complete two rounds wearing only the new Halloween items.
In the middle of the map, facing Lana’s Salon, you’ll see a bunch of items on a podium decorated with thorny vines and leaves. Select any items from here and join the runway twice to get this Rune.
