How To Catch The Fisch Ashclaw
You can only catch the Ashclaw inside of Roslit Volcano during an Eruption event, which we’ll talk more about later. There are no preferences for the type of weather, time, or season that the Ashclaw likes. However, it does have a preference for Coal bait. You can equip this on your rod to increase your chances of reeling one in.
When the Ashclaw is hooked on your rod, there will be a -95% progress speed decrease, which is incredibly high. You’ll need to have a good rod that has a wide bar to help you catch it.
Eruption Event
At the moment, most players are claiming that the only way to catch an Ashclaw is during an Eruption event. This happens at random, so all you can do is wait for the event to happen, and then head to Roslit Volcano and start fishing.
With the other Cataclysmic fish, you need an Earthquake event. This is different, which is where the confusion may stem from!
Recommended Rods
As the Ashclaw is a tough catch, you need to make sure you have a good rod. Having one with a wide bar and additional luck makes it even better. Here are some solid options you can use:

- Seraphic Rod
It’s also a good idea to Enchant your rods and have Enchants that increase progress speed.
- Invisible
- Infinite max KG and allows you to fish in Roslit Volcano and the Brine Pool.
- Flashline
- 1/5 chance for +90% progress speed, and the other 4/5 gives +10% progress speed.
- Immortal
- +75% luck and +30% progress speed.
