Cursed Thread is a mythical rarity crafting material. As it is of such high rarity, count yourself lucky if you have one! Its bestiary entry is simply ‘???’… which sounds pretty sus!
How To Obtain Cursed Thread
You can obtain Cursed Thread from fishing. But more specifically, you must be fishing in the Second Sea. To get Cursed Thread, you need to fish in the Open Ocean located in the Second Sea. You won’t be able to find Cursed Thread in the First Sea.
To get to the Second Sea, you must be at level 100+ and defeat the Cthulhu Boss. We have a more detailed How to Get To The Second Sea in Fisch guide. Once you’re in the Second Sea, hop on a boat and sail into the Open Ocean and get fishing!
Once hooked on your rod, there will be a +12% progress speed increase, making it an easy catch despite its rarity. It tends to weigh about 7kg on average, so you don’t have to worry much about using a good rod. As long as the rod has additional luck, you should have no problems catching one.

Cursed Thread has a few preferences when it comes to fishing conditions. If you meet these, you’ll have an increased chance of reeling in this crafting material.
