Fisch Kings Blessing Guide

Unlike other mutations, the King’s Blessing is one of few that can’t appear during Appraisals on Moosewood. This means it’s only applicable to fish caught under certain circumstances. And, despite the name, it has nothing to do with the King’s Rod…

Instead, the stunning Poseidon Rod found in Atlantis reclaims the King title as the only Rod to unveil this Mutation. It works as a passive ability on the rod, appearing roughly 5% of the time. Each fish with this mutation increases in value by x1.5 which isn’t all that great… Alongside its low-value bump, King’s Blessing fish don’t appear any different to their standard counterpart.

So, why bother with this lacklustre Mutation? Well, if you turn your attention back to the Poseidon Rod, you’ll soon understand! This expensive rod sits behind a small shark-infested trial and a 1,555,555 C$ price tag.

When fishing, the Posiedon Rod has a 25% chance (1 in 4) to give the player 75% of the caught fish’s value in C$ before even visiting a Merchant. This paired with an x1.5 value bump from the King’s Blessing mutation makes even the lowest-value fish seem a little more tempting.

Alongside this, the rod has a 5% chance to cast a ghost which increases a fish’s weight by 75-150%. This is huge (pardon the pun) as a fish’s value is determined by their species, rarity and weight. So, the Posiedon Rod and King’s Blessing Mutation make the perfect cocktail for a late-game money-making rod! Plus, it has decent, balanced stats so that’s always a bonus.
