As well as the stats, the Vinefang Rod has a special passive ability. It’s a bit like a green version of the Rod Of The Forgotten Fang, with some of the traits of the Trident Rod. Every second, there’s a 15% chance that the rod will stab your catch, boosting your progress and making it easier to catch. If you can score two perfect catches, a Green Megalodon will appear and gift you a rare fish with a boosted weight. How kind!
How To Get The Vinefang Rod

The Vinefang Rod is the reward for the limited Jungle Adventurer quest. This sees you gathering the Mossjaw Bones from around the map.
- Mossjaw Skill – The inland pond in Forsaken Shores.
- Mossjaw Jaw – The inland pond in Moosewood.
- Mossjaw Spine – Look for a Mahi Mahi fishing area off the coast of Sunstone Island using the Fish Radar and fish there.
- Mossjaw Scapula – Mushgrove Swamp, near the little carrot guy that marks the entrance to the Carrot Garden.
- Mossjaw Tail – Underneath the bridge in Roslit Bay across from the campfire.
Is The Rod Good?
This is a perfectly good fishing rod, though you can consider it an inferior version of the Rod Of The Forgotten Fang. Though, given how much of a pain it is to unlock the Ancient Archives and get to the level for this rod, there are quite a few players out there who might appreciate a slightly more budget option.
