Grow A Garden Blood Moon – What Is It?

Feature image for our Grow A Garden Blood Moon guide. It shows a moon in a red sky over an in-game garden.

The Grow A Garden Blood Moon rises this weekend. What does it mean? How do you find one? Let’s explain.

Grow A Garden is on Roblox. We have a Grow A Garden update guide if you’re eager to get some idea of the latest features.

Grow A Garden Blood Moon

So, what is it?

What Is The Blood Moon?

The Blood Moon is a special variation on the Night Event. The main visual difference is that the sky turns a blood red color.

In Night Events, the moonlight will strike a few of your crops, giving them the Moonlit Mutation. This is also true during the Bloon Moon, but even more so. You have an even higher chance of getting the Moonlight mutation on your crops during the Blood Moon.

Update: The Blood Moon Shop no longer appears. The info below is kept for archival reasons only.

That’s not all, though. When the Blood Moon rises, a strange shop rises from the ground in the event area at the center of the field. This shops sells special, often rare items that you can’t get anywhere else. In the demo video, we could make out the following items.

  • Mysterious Crate – 10,000,000c
  • Night Egg
  • Night Seed Pack
  • Crimson Vine Seed – 100,000c
  • Moon Melon Seen 50,000c
  • Star Caller
  • Blood Kiwi – 20,000,000c
  • Blood Hedgehog – 22,000,000c
  • Blood Owl – 30,000,000c

How Do You Get A Blood Moon?

Update: As of the Working Bees update, Blood Moon has a chance to activate every 4 hours.

Like regular Night events, the Blood Moon happens on the hour, and lasts for ten minutes. It doesn’t happen every hour, though. Instead, you can expect the Blood Moon once every three hours.

If you’re not there on the hour, we’d suggest using a public server rather than a private one, as we found the night events didn’t always trigger if we logged into a private server after the time the event was due to trigger. This could just be a bug, but we don’t want you to miss out on all the good stuff.
