So, what is the pet good for, and how do you get one?
What Does The Blood Owl Do?
The Blood Owl is one of the Owl pet family. This also includes the regular Owl which comes as a prize from the Wise Old Owl quest, and the Night Owl, which can hatch from Night Eggs. Like the other Owls, the Blood Owl is an excellent teacher for other pets. The Blood Owl increases the XP gain of other pets. It does a more effective job too, with our test pet giving twice the XP gain of a higher-level Night Owl at Level 1.
How To Get A Blood Owl
Update: As of the Bizzy Bees update, the Blood Moon Shop no longer spawns.
The Blood Owl is one of the new pets available through the Blood Moon Shop. It costs a pretty impressive 30 million sheckles. The Blood Moon Shop rises from the ground in the central area during Blood Moon events. This merchant sells rare items for large amounts of cash.
Blood Moons are like Night Events, but they don’t happen every hour. When they do happen is a little complicated. They appear to happen on around a third of all servers each hour, so when you hop in just before the hour turns over, there’s a 1 in 3 chance of the night being a Blood Moon Night, with the Shop.
HOWEVER, like the Seed or Gear Shops, the Blood Moon Shop may not have all the items in stock when it appears. You may need to check in across several events to get the Blood Owl.
