October 19th – Cryptic Statements
Developer Adrian posted a mysterious statement in the #leaks section of the Grow A Garden Discord server.

What does this mean? Will we see some major changes to how shop stocks work? We’re intrigued to find out.

August 29th – Jhai Takes Over Admin Abuse This Weekend
During the Admin War announcements, Jandel stated his intentions to take a break from Admin Abuse for a week to catch up on some sleep. This left us wondering whether GaG would skip Admin Abuse this week. Fortunately, that’s proven not to be the case. Jandel’s right-hand man Jhai is set to take over the controls of Admin Abuse this week, and has been told not to go ‘too crazy’. (Do it Jhai, go crazy.)
August 19th – Elder Bean
A mysterious figure has appeared in the garden, offering to turn anyone who interacts with him into a bean person to ‘teach good boy sammy a lesson’. This appears to reference SammySpyder, creator of Steal A Brainrot, who, according to admin messages detailed below, lead developer Jandel sees as having stole ideas from Grow A Garden.
“So albert and I walked, so that people like SammySpyder could steal our ideas and run”
“Should I run admin abuses to battle Good boy Sammy”

August 12th – A New Era
On the 8th of August, lead developer Jandel posted the following on the official Discord announcement channel.
“Grow a Garden Method Era
Thank you for attending tonight’s admin abuse, I am sure everyone has felt like the last few weekly events have felt a bit repetitive, and same same.
What we ultimately decided was that weekly events where just a bit too hard to keep fresh and new.
So I have decided that a new era of Grow a Garden is needed, the general idea is we will be adding more depth into the player farms.
Like an incubator you can place down, that increases egg hatching speed…
Or Fertiliser that you can put on a plant to make it rainbow for a certain number of hours
Depth in the farm, meta mechanics, more methods, easter eggs and discoveries.
We will still be doing events, we still think its really fun, but we noticed people have become very critical of our events in the middle, and we think that’s because we were neglecting other content we could add to the game, like bug fixes and features.
Other things like a garden encyclopaedia, that shows all your fruit stats (like heaviest grown fruit etc etc), challenge modes (like 24hours to grow the best fruit).
This won’t all be in the game next week, we are slowly going to be adding these things each week. I really feel like the golden days of grow a garden was when we were adding cool features like Pets, Crafting, Cosmetics… I still want to put cooking permanently into the game…
I think it would be fun to cook meals for the NPC’s feed them, as they like you more they unlock new tabs of the shop for better and more op rewards
I hope the community can see this change as a positive attempt at us to keep the game fresh and enjoyable for everyone.”
July 30th – Next Event Poll Between Beanstalk And Cooking

On the 28th of July Lead Dev Jandel ran a poll on the official Discord, asking players to pick between a Beanstalk event, where players would use crops to fertilize a massive Beanstalk and climb it to reach the clouds, or a Cooking event, where players would throw ingredients into a pot to make recipes.
The Cooking event won! Though does that mean we’re still on schedule to get trading? Hopefully we’ll find out the info soon.
July 23rd – Trading Next Week?

Lead developer Jandel ran a poll asking if trading should arrive in next week’s update. (We’re assuming that means the 2nd of August update.) The poll appears to be greatly in favour of the Trading update, so we might see the function arrive quite soon.
The Celebrity Guest May Be A Football Star

A celebrity guest is supposed to help with Admin Abuse this Saturday. There’s no word precisely who it is just yet, but the promo image appears to show an (American) football on the backdrop of a stadium, with blue and red coloring. This seems to point to, perhaps, a sports’ star.
Pet Mutations Are On The Way
Lead developer Jandel posted the following on the Grow A Garden Discord yesterday.
“That brings me to my last point, this weekend we are going to introduce a new feature to the game Pet Mutations.
This is a machine you can put your level 100 pet into and get unique mutations, with passives, buffs and cosmetics… and don’t worry before you ask, we are ADDING craftable and buyable (gear shop) xp boosts so that you can get your pet to level 100.“
What does this all mean? It means there’s a new motivation to level your pets, as once one reaches Level 100 you’ll be able to mutate it, gaining extra buffs and passives. This would add some value to the pet, as well as let you fit more benefits into a limited number of pet slots.
Trading Is Nearly Ready
In the post above, Jandel also indicated that pet gifting was back, and that this meant that trading was not far away, as the trading mechanic needed the same background work done as pet gifting. With it completed, the groundwork for trading is already finish. According to the post:
“Even though it seems simple on the surface… we actually had to completely rewrite our data backend to bring back Pet Gifting. People were using an exploit to dupe pets, and we believe we have fixed that now. The good news, is that this was the work that was required to allow for trading, so trading should be ready to go very soon. Perhaps next week, or the week after.”
Summer Seeds Moving To The Travelling Merchant

Lead Dev Jandel held a poll on the Grow A Garden Discord, asking if the Summer Seeds should move to the Travelling Merchant, returning the previous seeds to the Seed Shop. Currently the option to return the old seeds is winning the poll. Our verdict: Stock up on Summer Seeds as they might get a lot harder to get hold of.
A Better Crop Than Candy Blossom Is Coming Next Update

In one of the admin messages in the lead up to the Mega Harvest, Lead Developer Jandel dropped some huge news. We grabbed a screenshot just so you don’t have to just take our word for it.
- The next week will be a Prehistoric Event.
- The Prehistoric Event will have a crop that’s better than Candy Blossom.
Space Event?
On the 20th of June, lead developer Jandel released a video onto the official Grow A Garden Discord. It included this screen, showing what appeared to be the whole garden field flying through space, with massive starship engines powering it forwards.

If you look closely, you can see an event icon in the bottom right corner, this indicates that this is an in-game event, like Black Hole or Sun God. Like those, we suspect it’s likely to be admin-only activation, but we can’t be sure on that one just yet.
Summer Update Latest
On the 19th of June, developer DJ Jhai posted a picture on the official Grow A Garden Discord community. Let’s go into what that tells us about what we can expect.

This reveals two new particular features available in the new content.
- New Pet – Turtle
- What appears to be a new pet, there’s no mistaking a turtle. No word about what abilities this little guy will bring to your garden.
- New Crop – Prickly Pear?
- We did a bit of comparing photos to decide what we thought this new crop might be, and our bet is a Prickly Pear Cactus. These edible cacti are also known as Nopales, and used in Mexican cuisine. Potential new addition to the Seed Shop? We’ll see.
Summer Update
Between admin announcements and screen grabs of obscure frames from videos, the following has allegedly been leaked about the Summer update. Keep in mind that most of these are unofficial leaks, so we cannot guarantee how accurate they will be.
- The Seed Shop will reset with a whole new set of seeds.
- Existing events will end.
- Parrot will be one of the new pets.
- Ostrich and Flamingo are potential new pets, too.
- There will be at least one new mutation.
Working Bees Update
Prior to the Working Bees update, one of the developers released this screenshot onto the official Grow A Garden Discord, pointing out a number of different new bits of content.

- New Pets
- You can see two pets, the Cooked Owl and the Pack Bee in the screenshot.
- Crafting Features
- The screen shows off the crafting mechanic in the main window, with some of the ingredients needed and the crafting time.
- New equipment and plant types are displayed on the hotbar at the bottom of the screen.
- Cleaning Spray (Gear)
- Suncoil (Crop)
- Bee Balm (Crop)
- Crocus (Crop)
- New Mutation on the Crocus
- Cooked
