Previously, players have only had the option of risking it all by gifting their precious plants and pets to others, hoping the exchange will remain fair. However, now that we know a Grow a Garden Trading Update is on the horizon, it’s time to talk about all that we know so you can prepare for this monumental change!

Grow a Garden Trading Update
Jandel, one of the main creators behind Grow a Garden, recently announced on Discord that pet gifting has returned to the game. He details that this took longer than expected because of needing to rewrite data to prevent players from duping pets, which caused for disabling of pet gifting the first time.
But that’s not all. Towards the bottom of his announcement, he adds:
“The good news is that this was the work that was required to allow for trading, so trading should be ready to go very soon.“
Previously, players have had to ‘Trade’ through gifting, a sketchy process with no repercussions if the trading partner decided not to give their half in return. This version of early trading was also exclusive to sharing hatched pets (not eggs) and harvested crops.
When Will The Trading Update Drop?
“Perhaps next week, or the week after,” according to Jandel. Since updates typically drop on a Saturday, this means the Trading Update will either launch on July 12th or July 19th.
What Can We Trade?
This part is mere speculation, but I imagine Jandel and his team will honour what players already exchange amongst themselves, which includes harvested crops and aged pets.
But, this isn’t to say that seeds, gears, cosmetic boxes, seed packs, and unhatched eggs won’t also be tradeable amongst players. We’ll simply have to wait and see.
