A new quest has been added to Grow a Garden! We’ll go through everything you need to know about the Grow a Garden Zen Tree, how Chi works, and the rewards available.

Grow a Garden Zen Tree Guide
This event is only available until the 26th of July, 2025. During this, you need to help the Zen Channeler grow a tree by obtaining Chi and handing in crops. Sound confusing? Don’t worry, we’ll break it down.
Zen Tree Stages
A certain amount of Chi is required for each stage of the tree.
- First Stage
- Chi Required: 40
- Second Stage
- Chi Required: 60
- Third Stage
- Chi Required: 90
- Fourth Stage
- Chi Required: 120
- Fifth Stage
- Chi Required: 180
- Sixth Stage
- Chi Required: 245 Chi
- Seventh Stage
- Chi Required: 325
How To Get Chi
You may be wondering what Chi is, and you aren’t alone! This is a new in-game currency that was introduced in the Zen Update. You get Chi when handing in crops with the Tranquil Mutation. To get these crops, you need to play during a Zen Event, which happens each hour. During this, crops have the chance to become Tranquil.
Once you have Tranquil crops, hand them to the Zen Channeler NPC who is in the middle of your map. The tree will start to grow!
Quest Rewards
So, what do you get after the tree grows? For each stage you unlock, you can get a reward, and the ones you get are random. However, they can be any of the following.
- Zen Seed Packs
- Zen Crates
- Zen Gnome Crates
- Zen Egg
- Chi
- Tanuki Shop
Tanuki’s Shop
Beside the Channeler NPC is a Tanuki who owns the Treasures Shop. Here, you can spend Chi for various rewards. However, there are also specific items you can unlock depending on the stages of the tree you have.
